Watercolour Pineapple Print Collection: on Nuvango & Zazzle

My friend in British Columbia told me today that flowers are budding where he lives! And here I am, stuck in Ontario, with snow, snow, more snow, and freezing rain. The weather network has given me hope that it will be warming up soon.

In hopes that the weather man is not lying and it will indeed be warming up soon, I am featuring my Tropical watercolour pineapple print today! I created this design a while ago, but decided to spruce it up for my Nuvango shop. This design is one of my experiments with watercolours in a digital environment. I really love working in this technique, and I will definitely be producing more works like this in the future. The downside: each watercolour cutout is a digital mask, making a file so big that I can no longer open the original pineapple pattern on this laptop. Good thing I saved a single pineapple separately. ;) Along with the warm weather, I am hoping for a new laptop this year too. :P

Tropical Pineapple Print fabric! This fabric is proving to be pretty popular on Zazzle. This fabric features a customizable background colour. I used this bright, minty, tropical greenish blue as a sort of risky colour choice... but I liked it so much that I created a pattern in similar colours for Nuvango! 

My pattern on iPhone 6 skin! The skins at Nuvango always look so nice. I love how bright and fresh these colours look, definitely tropical! This phone skin is becoming especially popular on Polyvore... its been used in sets over 10 times now! 

Tropical Pineapple print womens tshirt! Nuvango released shirts as part of their collection on February 10th. I love how they print your design on every part of the shirt. 

Skins for the DSi, 3ds, and 3ds XL on Nuvango. Nintendo fans living in America (like me) are upset that we don't get the cool new 3DS that Asia and Europe are getting that have interchangeable designed backings. I was happy to see Nuvango has a collection of skins for DS! Gelaskins are removable, protect your device from scratches, and make your DS beautiful. Shown in this preview is a DSi, because the 3ds and 3ds XL previews on Nuvango don't seem to show the interior skin. All the skins cover the interior and exterior of the DS. I will be making one for my 3DS soon enough! :) :) 

This is so cute! The wii u controller comes in all black by default. What a nice way to make it completely unique...  and protect it from scratches at the same time! Nuvango skins fit over the back and front of the devices. 

New Zazzle Fabrics : Pineapple Retro Print

So yesterday I found out that zazzle has a new product available for creation.. fabric! I am really excited to be able to print my own patterns on fabric. I wanted to sign up for spoonflower, but I can now use zazzle to test the waters before jumping straight in. I plan on making TONS of fabrics... I even created a new category to display them in! In fact, I was quite productive today and revamped the whole storefront of my zazzle shop with a new banner and more organized categories. Now about those fabrics! I made all my designs available in fabric patterns... and even created a new bunch of designs just for the occasion! I created new vintage inspired pineapple designs using watercolour textures, my trusty vector shapes and my new favourite thing, glitter. I used a retro colour palette for some of them and kept the pineapples simplistic. I am really happy with how they turned out, and they look fantastic on the fabric. Here they are:

This is my favourite pattern out of the bunch! I used chartreuse green and a light tiffany blue to go along with my glitter pineapples. I think this one looks the best on the fabrics, too. I can see it being used as fabric for curtains, accent pillowcases and chair cushion covers in someones summer home. I would also love to see someone make an ironically summery circle scarf out of this one! ;)

A more modern trendy piece, featuring geometric tribal print lines and of course, the glittery pineapple. I put this pattern on a neon green background for fun, and I actually like it so I kept it. The colour is very different from what I usually use on designs! As usual however, you can change that background colour to be whatever you want.

My second favourite pattern! It was a tough choice between this one and the stripes one, because this one also looks fantastic on fabrics. I used the same colour palette as the stripes and dots one, but I went with a more 60s fabric feel with a multi coloured circle pattern. Despite liking the other one better, I do think I maintained the retro look more consistently in this one!

This was actually the first pattern I made, using multiple watercolour textures in object masks! This file was so big that I couldn't open it again to alter it. So while I sent it over to my boyfriend for him to open on his way better computer, I started creating the pineapples above! I am so glad I couldn't open it, or else I wouldn't have made the pineapples in that style. I like them so much more than this one.
